Tools and a Jamstack tutorial
As always, I hope this issue finds you well, all things considered. I’m leading off with a “cheap” tutorial this week, something I will attempt to continue in the future. The next version of npm released recently, now at version 7. Also another library I’m a fan of: Tailwind CSS, released version 1.9 which makes it easier to create shareable style guides.
Build an Authenticated JAMstack App with Next.js, Airtable, Tailwind CSS, and Auth0
Next.js makes building Full-stack applications in the JAMstack much easier, but there’s still a few pieces to figure out. Where are you going to store data? How are you handling authentication? Well, here’s how we are going to put it all together.
I’ve been meaning to add more articles like this (and hopefully creating some myself) and I hope you enjoy. I want more people to see what is possible to build with a collection of free services and tools. Both Airtable and Auth0 are services which have free tiers, so you could run this app for no cost at a smaller scale. Also, the author has a video version of this tutorial which goes into a bit more detail.
Actionsflow
A free IFTTT/Zapier alternative for developers, Actionsflow helps you to automate workflows. With Actionsflow, you can connect your favorite apps, data, and APIs, receive notifications of actions as they occur, sync files, collect data, and more.
Given how much developers like to automate things, having a tool similar to Zapier that is free, even if it is a bit more technical to use, is exciting.

Cosmic
Cosmic is a Headless CMS that empowers you to create, edit, and manage content across limitless websites and applications, from one convenient interface.
It has a fairly generous free tier for solo projects that you may have. It supports GraphQL and REST like APIs and has client libraries in a number of languages. I’ve written about headless CMSes before, but I only came across Cosmic recently.
